The Czech defender is confident the Rossoneri will get over the departures. He is insistent that this is the start of a new era.

Milan fans are concerned about the future of the club after they waved goodbye to legendary captain Paolo Maldini, Brazilian superstar Kaka and coach Carlo Ancelotti this summer, but veteran wing-back Marek Jankulovski has urged the supporters to keep faith in the club during this transitional phase.

We have changed a lot this summer: there is a new coach, new players have come in, important ones have left and others have quit, the 32-year-old told Sky Sport 24.

A new era begins and lets hope it goes well. There is so much enthusiasm and we are eager to do well from the off. It is strange not to see Kaka, the captain and Ancelotti any more - they were here for so many years.

Football goes on - an important cycle ended and a new one is about to start.

Kaka is one of the best players in the world, but we have other good players who want to do well and others will join. After all, it will still be 11 men on the pitch.

Press rumours suggest that Italy international Andrea Pirlo is also poised to leave the Diavoli to reunite with Ancelotti at Chelsea.

I hope he stays because it would be difficult to find a replacement, mused Jankulovski.

He is unique in his role. We dont need to convince him: he loves it here at Milan and Im sure he will remain.
