The Rossoneri were beaten 1-0 by Zurich in the Champions League and the veteran striker reflected on one of the darkest nights in the clubs history...

Milan striker Filippo Inzaghi said he was far from happy with the team’s performance in the 1-0 defeat at the hands of Swiss side FC Zurich on Wednesday evening.

The Rossoneri confirmed all the negative elements they had hinted at in the last few weeks and Inzaghi admitted that things are not looking too bright for his club right now.

“There is disappointment tonight, because it seemed like everything was jinxed,” commented the legendary goalscorer to Milan Channel.

“I’m sorry because the team gave a lot, especially in the second half, but we must accept the result on the pitch. It’s a moment where everything is going wrong, we must improve all together.

“Tonight [Wednesday] we still created a lot, but football is made up of small actions, small particulars. Still, we’re all with Leonardo, all united and compact," he insisted.

“However, we spent a lot of energy and obtained very little.”

Milan will need to recharge their batteries ahead of Sunday’s Serie A clash against Atalanta, which now becomes more important for the morale following this defeat.
