| Paolo Maldini: Italy Role? We Will See What's On Offer Maldini is waiting to speak with the FIGC over a possible role with the Azzurri... By Salvatore Landolina May 31, 2010 12:23:00 PM
Paolo Maldini is ready to listen to offers over an Italy team manager role as he hints at a possible partnership with new coach Cesare Prandelli.
The FIGC announced Prandelli will be Azzurri coach for the next four years once Marcello Lippi steps down next month. And their job now is to build a strong team of assistants that will help the former Fiorentina man.
And Maldini has offered his services, but only if the proposals fall in line with his expectations.
"I am struggling to think about it because it would mean a change to the future I had thought about," he told Sky Sport 24.
"I cannot say yes or no because I don't even know what I will be offered."
The former stopper endorsed Prandelli's leadership, and he has thrown his weight behind the coach.
"Lippi will leave, and the results will show whether the right choice has been made. He [Prandelli] is certainly a coach who can do well with Italy."
